On Christmas day, we explored Jawbone Canyon in West Mojave Desert. The sky was crystal clear with incredible clouds occasionally occupying part of the sky. The air was very cold that day. We saw the aquaduct, joshua trees, Bishop’s grave site (a uranium miner), creosote bushes, and the Tehachapi Mountains. The beauty, the expansiveness, the stillness of the desert is quite powerful and therapeutic at the same time. We explored small areas on foot, and quickly got into the car to stay warm and drove further on bumpy desert roads. Our adventure ended when the sun set. Merry Christmas!!
